Recap

Wow! We had a great turnout both Saturday & Sunday. The weather was picture perfect, albeit for a pesky wind at times both days.

Now some business.

We are finally getting cycling jerseys and now is the time to decide as the initial order goes in this week. The cost is $50 bucks. If your currently undecided another order hopefully will go out in July. The jersey's are relaxed club cut.

Please let me know at scrapple1@comcast.net    ASAP

Twenty-eight of our current crew are going to get their  Tour de Tuckahoe jersey's in late April/early May.

Both Saturday & Sunday were well attended. After February, most riders were eager to stretch their legs.

FYI: We will offer "An Introduction To Group Road Riding" on Saturday's at 9:00 A.M. in addition to our regular ride leader led pace groups.

BTW It was nice to see Frank Bueler on Saturday. He's Back.  Big Jim Bigley also stopped by ,but did not ride today

A big thanks to Nick for leading out the 20+ riders and Debi in the 15-17 group. The 18-20 were kinda on their own when my front tire unexpectedly went flat in the parking lot after this group left. I eventually met up with everyone at Head Of The River.

Another surprise was a small contingent of the Paramount Cycling Club. Thanks, and hope to see you gentleman again soon.

We definitely had three pace groups Saturday.

At our usual stop At Head Of The River some went short and some went  long down Wetherby Road for a 48 mile loop. The short loop is 30 miles and that's what the many elected to ride.
Jeff, Art.and Dan went up Cape May Ave.This loop is close to 40 miles.

I want to revisit our current pace groups. Originally,we had only one, then two, and last year three. For the most  part it worked as more riders attended the Tour de Tuckahoe.
Now I'm thinking we need another. pace group.  Not counting the" Intro Group Ride "I plan to try a 12-15 pace group soon. We'll see if this helps as a first step after a new rider attends several Intro Group Rides.

On Sunday, we teamed up with the SCC's Breakfast Ride and had another good group.
Thanks to DR Harry who led out the 18-20. Nick, again in the 20 + and Walt in the 15-17.

Yes, we did have a few flats along the way." Freight Train" John Dawson, totally shredded the 20+ guys as they dropped back one by one to the 18-20 group. If you can't take the heat better stay out of John's kitchen.

Once again we split up into long and short loops at Head Of the River.

On a personal note aren't we all getting a bit tired of Pat "Marlboro Man" Mcgurk showing up with a drop dead looking cycling kit(apparel) and yet another high end road bike.

We've also added something to the SCC Breakfast Ride, on Sunday only.

Bull fighting, that's right folks bull fighting.

Dr Harry came out on top Sunday with some absolutely amazing and willey moves

Be there next  month on the first Sunday to cheer on a fellow rider who steps into the pen/ring with "Billy the Belleplain Bully" for  yet another round of  adrenaline  pumped action .

No other group ride to my knowledge boasts this unique discipline

Thanks to everyone who rode this weekend.

Currently the for cast for next weekend in not looking good.

Stay Out There and Ride
Lou
